המרכז לחקר השואה של המכללה האקדמית גליל מערבי מקדם מחקר והפצת ידע בנושא השואה ותוצאותיה. אנו מתמקדים כעת בשני פרויקטים שממחישים את הרלוונטיות של חקר השואה לימינו:
פרויקט "ילדי מלחמה, שואה ורצח עם" בראשות ד"ר בעז כהן עם ד"ר ורנה בוזר מברלין מבוסס על הנחת היסוד שהיסטוריונים יכולים לתרום במומחיותם בשיקום ילדים שנפגעו במלחמות כיום. המחקר מתמקד באיתור, שחזור וארגון של הידע שנוצר לאחר שיקום ילדים לאחר מלחמת העולם השנייה ושואה, והעמדתו לרשות מטפלים וקובעי מדיניות שעובדים עם ילדים נפגעי מלחמה ורצח עם בימינו.
החל משנת 2017 המרכז מארגן סדנאות בינלאומיות המפגישות היסטוריונים של שיקום לאחר השואה עם עובדי סיוע וארגונים לא ממשלתיים העובדים בתחום כיום.
